I grew up on the East Coast (Boston area) and moved to Colorado in 2014 seeking a little more sunshine and respite from the humidity. I enjoy fly fishing, hiking, climbing (when I’m not injured), music, our two dogs, cooking (and eating), carpentry/woodworking, photography and much more. I maintain an incredible amount of pride and passion in absolutely everything I choose to do and try my hardest to reflect that in the finished product, whatever that may be.

I am married to an amazing woman, Alberta, who is responsible for pushing me every day to be a better person, among many other things!

I am passionate about moving the needle on climate change, our broken food systems and our highly ineffective healthcare system. I am currently active in local efforts to conserve our river valley against corporate mining efforts and pollution. Check out Save Our Saint Vrain Valley and Good Neighbors of Lyons!

I am not perfect and won’t always have the best execution, but these are things I strive for each day.

Ship and Iterate

I love getting things done and I’ve found the best process for me is to do so in smaller increments with the idea that I will continue to improve as time allows. I think this is especially valuable because a lot of times I will figure things out along the way and tweak my approach or goal entirely. This mindset fuels everything I do.

Listening

I think listening is one of the most important things we can do as humans in any capacity. Too often, we begin conversations with the intent of getting our own point across first, but that can often cause things to miss entirely. I try my best to listen first so my understanding is clear before I share whatever is on my mind.

Communication

Clear and concise communication pairs well with listening. I value keeping my points short and clear in conversations so we don’t get side-tracked. I think it’s also extremely important to remain as transparent as possible in the process to foster trust and respect.

Learning

I have a powerful drive to learn as much as I can during my short time on this earth. Continuous improvement is a daily force in my life and knowledge-seeking is a key part of that. I believe “failures” are just learning opportunities, so in that respect, I have done a lot of learning. I also might have too many hobbies.

Compassion and Empathy

I think in a world where success is valued so highly, treating each other as humans (with kindness and respect) is too often pushed aside. I try my best to underline all my interactions with the understanding that we all have our own struggles and are doing the best we can each day.
